The Pesticides Regulatory Directorate (PRD), formerly known as the Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA), recently announced the approval of an Emergency Use Registration (EUR) request for PYGANIC® insecticide for management of Nesidiocoris tenuis, “Nesi”, on greenhouse grown cucumbers and greenhouse grown tomatoes in Ontario. This EUR request can be used only in Ontario from April 17th, 2026, until April 16th, 2029. The request marks the first agricultural related EUR request to be granted a multiyear term on the grounds of preventing the establishment of a new invasive species.

POSTERITY® Fungicide label expanded via Minor Use Program

POSTERITY® Fungicide label expanded via Minor Use Program to help manage Fusarium internal rot on Greenhouse Peppers and Botrytis grey mould on Greenhouse Lettuce

The Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) recently announced the approval of a minor use label expansion registration for POSTERITY® Fungicide for suppression of Fusarium internal rot on greenhouse pepper and Botrytis grey mould on greenhouse lettuce in Canada. POSTERITY® Fungicide was already labeled for disease control on a wide range of crops in Canada. These minor use proposals were submitted by Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada, Pest Management Centre (AAFC-PMC) as a joint project with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) IR-4 project as a result of minor use priorities established by growers and extension personnel.

Tank mixing, a practice commonly performed by growers across the agricultural spectrum, is an important practice used to reduce the number of sprayer passes per season, prevent resistance development, and to improve product performance.

Health Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) recently announced clarifications to the tank mixing policy in a new guidance document on December 22nd, 2022, entitled “PMRA Guidance Document Tank Mix Labelling”.
